Carly Rae Jepsen performed her new single Take A Picture on American Idol last night. The lyrics of the song were voted for by fans as part of Coca-Cola’s Perfect Harmony campaign.

Take A Picture is being released during the campaign for Tonight I’m Getting Over You but it isn’t really an issue since the latter is struggling to make an impact. Take A Picture is a very light-hearted, electro pop song with not much to it except the chorus is quite catchy. The “tonight” ad-libs towards the end remind me of Enrique Iglesias’ Escape.

For something voted by fans, the lyrics aren’t as bad as they could’ve been. However, I can’t see this single fairing well if even the amazing Tonight I’m Getting Over You is barely doing anything.
