Sophie Ellis-Bextor – “Bittersweet” Video Premiere

The video for Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s lead single Bittersweet from her forthcoming album Straight To The Heart premiered. It’s a very simple video with trampolines, wind machines and dancers. There’s no plot but it definitely suits the song and looks really artistic for what could have been a cheap looking video.

It would have been better if the Freemasons‘ remix was used for the radio edit but the radio edit is still quite good. It’s a strong single to lead the album with and if the rest of the album is up to this standard, we’re in for quite a good album campaign.

Bittersweet will be released on May 3rd through Fascination Records.

The Freemasons version of Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s upcoming single Bittersweet has made its way onto the internet after premiering on radio last night. It sounds incredible. Very euphoric dance-pop which will sound amazing in a club. The sound is huge. Having heard clips of the album version, the Freemasons version is definitely the superior version. Bittersweet could be a massive hit for Sophie.

You can listen to a clip of the Freemasons version below:

Bittersweet is still without a set release date and the album is yet to be titled since Sophie declared the title Make A Scene to be not good enough via her Twitter.

Sugababes – “Wear My Kiss” Video Preview

The Sugababes new video for upcoming contingency single Wear My Kiss from their delayed album Sweet 7 was premiered previewed today. Although originally it was meant to premier in full today, team Sugababes couldn’t even get that much right.

The “preview” which is apparently unfinished, looks very low budget and a cross-between Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer and Kylie’s Love At First Sight, if the latter had no budget.

Not only does the entire background look cheap, the editing looks very poor and the video has no reflection on the lyrics of the song at all.

Wear My Kiss is scheduled for release on February 22nd through Island Records followed by the album Sweet 7 on March 5th but these dates could change again.

Sophie Ellis Bextor’s lead single from her forthcoming album is entitled Bittersweet as announced by Sophie herself via her Twitter account today. Bittersweet sees Sophie teaming up with previous collaborators Freemasons as well as Hannah Robinson and Biff Stannard.

Sophie described the song’s meaning as:

…when you can’t resist something that you know is bad for you. a guilty pleasure. like watching celebrity big brother.

On her official blog she added:

It’s a good introduction to the fourth album because, as with the majority of the record, it’s a song you can dance to. The new tracks feature collaborations with Calvin Harris, Metronomy, Cathy Dennis, Richard X and Edrcourt. It’s been a lovely experience to make this album and I am so looking forward to sharing it with you all.

Bittersweet will be sent to radio in February with a scheduled early April release followed by the yet to be titled new album through Fascination.
