Steps – “You Make Me Whole”

Steps have released an instant-grat track from their upcoming album Tears On The Dancefloor called You Make Me Whole.

You Make Me Whole is an uptempo dance song and not exactly what you’d expect from Steps song but it’s very good. It starts off sounding a bit Early Winter by Gwen Stefani before exploding into an Alias banger by the chorus that sounds like Move On U vs. Young by The Saturdays and Tulisa.

Maybe this is the kind of sound Steps would’ve progressed to at some point earlier had the split never happened.

You Make Me Whole is so instant and catchy it should definitely be the second single. It could possibly fair better than Scared of The Dark which has done well considering how much streaming has effected the singles chart.

Steps – “Scared of The Dark” Video Premiere

Steps have released the music video for their comeback single Scared of The Dark taken from their forthcoming album Tears On The Dancefloor.

The video is shot against a green screen with some lens flare effects to try hide the fact that it was shot on a small budget. Even with the budget the video looks glossy and Steps look great in it. The video at times is reminiscent of the Up! video by The Saturdays. The video features a brand new Steps dance routine which already looks iconic.

Tears On The Dancefloor is available April 21st.

The deluxe edition includes:

  3. Gentleman
  4. Leave A Light On
  5. Not Giving Up
  6. Lease My Love
  7. 30 Days

  16. Gentleman (The Alias Radio Edit)
  17. Disco Love (Wideboys Radio Edit)
  18. Not Giving Up (JRMX WeLovePop Radio Edit)

30 Days made the album in the end. It’s a bit disappointing that we’ve heard over half the album since earlier this year. I was hoping for a 14 or 15 track album. The deluxe edition is almost all previously released material so it’s not the most exciting release. Tracks recorded with Ed Drewett and DJ Fresh also didn’t make the album so I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a re-release/greatest hits album coming up soon.

The Saturdays’ cover of Donna Summer’s On The Radio is playing before Frankie changes the radio station to Disco Love.
