katy-perry-s-roar-arrives-earlyKaty Perry’s new single Roar leaked two days early. Roar is written by Katy, Bonnie McKee and Henry Walter and produced by Dr Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut. It’s a progression from Katy’s previous album Teenage Dream as it’s not as colourful but at the same time it’s not as dark as expected.

There’s been plenty of comparisons online of Roar and Sara Bareilles’ song Brave, but while there are similarities, Roar has a lot of differences that make it more anthemic.

The lyric video for Roar is also very creative, using Whatsapp and Emoji icons to display the lyrics. Check it out below:

Roar is available worldwide on iTunes.

Bonnie McKee has released her new single American Girl as a free download via her official site. She has also released a video for the track similar to the viral videos for Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe. The video features cameos from tonnes of singers and celebrities including Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Macklemore and Carly Rae Jepsen herself.

Bonnie, whose written for most of the artists in the video, might finally get the recognition she deserves with such a huge track like American Girl. It’s a Teenage Dream style anthem with a massive chorus, full of catchy melodies and hooks.

However, it’s a bit sad that most people will think Bonnie’s copying the sound of Katy Perry, Ke$ha, etc. when she’s behind a lot of their biggest hits. Hopefully with American Girl being so catchy, the comparisons might get overlooked.

Check out the video for American Girl below:

The Wanted have released their new single Walks Like Rihanna but it’s the b-side Drunk On Love that’s gaining a lot of attention online. Drunk On Love, which is co-written by Tom Parker, is so catchy and it’s much more of a Wanted track than the a-side. It’s reminiscent of Glad You Came. Initially I was expecting it to be a cover of Rihanna’s Drunk On Love because of the a-side.

Walks Like Rihanna is out now featuring Drunk On Love on the EP and CD single.

Kelly Clarkson – “Tie It Up” Radio Premiere

Kelly Clarkson premiered her new single Tie It Up on Go Country 105. It’s basically identical to the live version that Kelly performed last week at the CMA Music Festival.

I still don’t understand what project this single is going to be part of. Kelly recently said that she’s recording a Christmas album while also working on a new studio album which will be released next year. She said that there would be both pop and country singles taken from the album but it seems too soon to be releasing a single from an album not slated for release until next year. So I think this single might just be a once-off song she’s releasing for the fun of it.

Kelly is asking fans to submit their wedding photos via the Twitter hashtag #TieItUpVideo for the lyric video for Tie It Up.

Tie It Up will be available on iTunes on June 25th.
