Maroon 5 have announced their fourth studio album, Overexposed, will be released this June 26th. The new album is said to be their most “pop” album yet. Like Moves Like Jagger, the band decided to collaborate with the writing process which is something they don’t usually do.

Overexposed is executively produced by Max Martin but also features tracks produced by Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco.

The band announced the new album via their website. Adam Levine said:

Overexposed is definitely our most diverse and poppiest albums yet. We had a great time recording it. I can’t wait for our fans to hear the record, as well as hitting the road to play it live for everyone later this year.

James Valentine added:

Moves Like Jagger was the first time we ever worked with an outside writer, so we decided to try it some more on this record. At this point in our career I think it was a good thing to completely mix up our process and it yielded good results, as well as a more collaborative spirit within the band. We wanted to make something that sounded contemporary with the elements of a lot of early eras of pop music. This is our most “pop” record ever and we weren’t shy about really going for it.

Some of the tracks included on the album include Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa, One More Night and Beautiful Goodbye.

I can’t imagine what Maroon 5 will sound like with songs by Max Martin, Ryan Tedder and Benny Blanco, but I’m excited to hear what they’ve come up with.

Maroon 5 – “Misery” and “Hands All Over”

Maroon 5 have released the lead single, Misery, from their upcoming third album, Hands All Over. Misery is a typical Maroon 5 song, as it sticks to their unique sound which makes you instantly recognise that it’s Maroon 5 when you listen. While it doesn’t sound very innovative, it’s still a catchy song which is what Maroon 5 have always been about (although this may not be the best song to lead an album with, but it does sound similar to This Love).

The video for Misery premiered recently too. It’s also a typical Maroon 5 video as lead vocalist, Adam Levine, has a love interest as usual. However, this time his love interest treats him badly by beating him, throwing him off buildings, causing him to get knocked down by a car and stabbing his friends while still continuing to display her love for him by kissing him at the same time. It’s quite a funny video while still remaining somewhat true to the lyrics of Misery.

Hands All Over is scheduled for release on September 21st with the following tracklisting:

01. How
02. Never Gonna Leave
03. Wasted Years
04. Last Chance
05. Don’t Know Much About That
06. Out of Goodbyes (featuring Lady Antebellum)
07. I Can’t Lie
08. Give a Little More
09. Misery
10. Stutter
11. Hands All Over
12. Stay Out Of My Life

Lead vocalist Adam Levine wrote about shooting the video on his Twitter account:

Lots of stunts…I die like ten times In this video! It’s by far the most ambitious and action packed one yet!

Adam also descibed Misery as:

…the most Maroon 5-sounding song on the album.

It was announced that the new album, Hands All Over, will include the following eleven tracks as well as four others:
